A Home Vacation Treat Right In Your Sunroom
Going on a vacation is one thing that all of us look forward to. We plot our schedules and plan with zest. A vacation can sometimes be hard on our pockets but it's all worth it, isn't it? Wouldn't it be swell if we could go on vacations whenever we want to? Believe it or not, your sunroom can be your own vacation retreat where you can go anytime you want without beating hard on your savings. Bright colors, a hot tub, tropical-inspired furniture and complementing accents will transform your sunroom into an exclusive beach, a haven for your family and friends.
Choose colors like yellows, pinks, blues and greens. They speak clearly of a beach setting. Paint the walls and if you like, make a mural of a beach scene complete with the sea, waves, sand, blue sky, trees and boats.
Together with the hot tub, place furniture representing the beach, such as lounge chair and other pieces made of natural materials. Simple items will create the look. Anyway, the beach life is all about nature and not so much about material things, so you don't need to go overboard with the decorations.
Elaborate accessories will overshadow your new sunroom's design. When picking out accessories think natural and amusing. Place some potted plants around the sunroom. Banana trees and other large leafy plants will accentuate the tropical vacation feel of your sunroom. Really emphasize your love of fun in the sun by adding blow up pool toys to the wall as art. If you did not use the mural, consider mounting a surf board or knee board as wall art as well. To save money find a used or damaged board then cover it in pictures and lacquer over to give the grouping a more put together look.
Finally, complete the look with area rugs in bright and/or light colors. Suit the color scheme and add in a rug in sand color, especially near the hot tub for a more dramatic effect. There are also rugs with a beach theme, perfect for the tropical design of the sunroom.
Who says vacations only happen a few weeks in the summer? It can be everyday in the familiar comforts of home. Holding parties and family time in the sunroom can further highlight this personal vacation space. Reward yourself with a treat regardless of the season and occasion. You and your family can have a grand time without spending a lot. Your very own home vacation minus the bore is an indulgence perfect for the family.
