A Newborns Room
Choosing a theme that will fit your new baby's nursery isn't always the easiest process. If you're not sure what the sex of the baby is you may not know what color or style you can do the room in. This is why you should try and get a neutral color that will work with either gender of baby. However if you are aware of which gender you are having you can change the theme around a bit. Really you will need things that will attract the baby's attention; they love to look at things when they are awake. This is why it's important to have a mobile in their crib that will help them go to sleep.
Most likely the theme that you pick will not last all the way through the child's growing up, but try and pick something that will last a while. Picking animals is a great choice, or a cartoon character would even be a good idea. The better you pick the more time you will be able to leave the theme up in the room. So pick carefully so that you will save money in the long run.
If your child is a boy it can start and continue to be super heroes and cartoon characters. A more feminine theme for your little girl could be gardens, flowers, tea parties, and Disney princesses. These are timeless and can remain in your child's room until their early pre-teenage years.
When painting the walls of the newborn's room, it's best to stick with a neutral color, this way it will go with almost any theme you have in the room. If you want to change it around a bit you can always add some wallpaper to the room. But sticking with nice neutral colors for paint is always a good idea.
You can keep the theme of a room, but change around some accessories as your child ages. Change pictures around so that the most current pictures are up. Add in some of your Childs own art work. Different knick knacks will add a nice extra into the room.
Keeping the floor wood may be the best bet to decorating a newborns room. You can add a nice area rug that isn't much in cost. Just make sure that you get one that is stain resistant, and one that isn't too large either. As your child grows up they will have toys scattered in the room on a rug. The bigger rug you have the harder it will be to pick up and clean.
Try these ideas when you go to decorate your newborn's nursery, you will end up saving money, and making a nice wonderful room.
