A Project Redesign For The Home
A project redesign can really spruce up the look of your home. You will not need to spend a lot of money to achieve this new look as sometimes just changing things around or updating your furnishings will work just fine.
Arm yourself with three boxes when you are ready for a project redesign. You will need to remove clutter first and foremost before doing anything else. In the first of the three boxes place things that you want to keep, items to throw out or give to charity go in the second box and the third box is for anything that you are not sure of.
A project redesign can incorporate many different elements -- for example adding new accessories, bringing in new artwork, painting the walls, adding some new or exciting plants or really being adventurous by replacing the flooring.
Before undertaking a project redesign, map out your budget. For example, certain rooms will only need some minor decorating work, whilst others might need some more major renovations and would need the majority of your budget.
When planning an interior design project, professional design advice is valuable. Some interior design websites offer a gallery of interior design photographs that can help get your creative juices flowing. These sites are also worthwhile because you gain access to a forum where you can get answers to your questions from professional interior designers.
When many people hear interior design, they automatically think expensive. But you can inexpensively create a professional design look through simple, yet significant changes in a room. Among the things that can create major change are repainting the walls, changing the style through accessories and furnishings, and selecting a different focal point. Use design tricks, like using slipcovers to give a fairly new sofa a new look, rather than buying new.
Consider three-dimensional design software as your friend when it comes to a major project redesign. Before you even start you can load the software, and after planning what you want to do, you can see the finished look as if it were real time. Choose your room style, your interior decorating scheme or even an outdoor landscaping project. In this way you will be able to redesign your area before even spending any money on paint, furniture or other big-ticket items.
A great time to think about the environment and conserve energy is when you are getting ready for a project redesign. You should consider replacing all your standard bulbs with energy-efficient ones and make sure that you look for the Energy Star seal of approval before you buy any of those major appliances. If placing traditional hardwood floors, select bamboo or cork board instead. As always, recycle, reuse and restore!
