A Unique Home Decor

Have you seen all those shows that are based on designing a new look to a room? They are all over the place, and very popular. Shows like "Trading Spaces" and "Design on a Dime" are all the rage. These shows prove that you can really redecorate your home and still stay within a budget.

Simple changes can make a room look different. One way that is always a great addition to the room is to add in an area rug. There are so many colors and shapes and sizes that you should be able to find one that fits what you are hoping to accomplish.

With that being said you don't need to spend tons of money to change around a room. You can keep all the same furnishings and just change a few things. With adding in some different paint to the walls a room can go from boring to fantastic in no time flat. But don't stick with the normal and plain colors that you see all over the place. Take a chance with something different, something that will stand out. As with interior paints you should always use gloss because it will make the paint stand out more. So try some unique and bold colors like hearty orange, outrageous green and funky yellow.

If you would like to put some wallpaper trimming running along the baseboards, then you can do that as well. Wallpaper would add a unique look, but you should make sure it fits in with the overall appearance of the room you are decorating.

You can also add in some unique curtains to the room once you're done with the walls. Try making your own to save some money. Also add in some nice throw pillows with your unique colors. Remember you're trying to make your own look and if you watch those shows they do take chances also.

By making your own curtains and throw pillows the money you will save can be used for something else. In fact you can even make a slip cover for the furniture with a unique material. Again making the product yourself will save you a bunch of money. Even if you use things that you've seen on some shows for your own home you will still add your own tastes into the project. You can also check out some books at the library or magazines to help you come up with some great ideas. When you plan to do this though, you should have an idea of what you're trying to come up with in your mind. Also keep in mind that you will not be able to finish this up in a day so plan accordingly. Don't become discouraged if the project takes a few weeks. After all if you work outside the house you will still need to spend some time away from the house. Keep your chin up and try to make a still that is unique to you.
