Area Rugs To The Rescue
They say that your home decor is only limited by your imagination but the fact of the matter is that it is also limited by your budget. Finding furniture or upholstery that's right for your home or in line with your decorating plans can be difficult on a tight budget. So how can you decorate your home if you were unfortunate enough to be in this kind of situation? Is it really possible to do so?
Yes! A limited budget is not and should not be a hindrance for home decorating. Expect that the planning stage can be overwhelming with all the ideas and wish list. The truth is, once you go out and scout for prospective items, you'll find that there are alternatives, cheaper options. What's the garage sale and flea markets for? All you need are patience, determination and resourcefulness. You need these more than money, actually.
For those decorating with a tight budget, the best thing to do is to look for the quickest and cheapest way to decorate. The solution therefore is on the use of area rugs. Only rugs, you ask? Well, not exactly the be-all and end-all. If you can throw in some other decorative items, then great! But if not, area rugs will doreally. Rugs are not just floor coverings to disguise whatever dirt there is on the floor nor are they just to keep your feet warm in winter or to relax your tired feet after cooking. Area rugs are the perfect accents to complement the rest of the room. Similarly, they are the ideal centerpieces containing the elements of color, design, texture, pattern and shape. Talk about perfect combination.
I'm talking about area rugs. If you decorate with an area rug, you get the best of all decorating elements - color, design, pattern, shape and size. The textures vary too because of the use of different materials from wool, bamboo, jute to synthetic fabrics. An area rug can change how a room looks in a snap. You can use it as a focal point or an accent to other furnishings.
It doesn't correlate that affordable rugs are ugly and of poor quality. You can buy items from thrift stores that are still in excellent condition. Retail stores may sell items for a cheaper price because of marketing purposes or surplus reasons. Rugs that you find in department stores are a notch pricier, yes. But if you decide to look for rugs in secondhand outlets, with patience in looking, you can find area rugs in equally good quality.
If you're after a cheap decorating way, area rugs are the answers. With any theme or color, you can be sure that there are pieces perfect for your home.
