Blinds in Essex

Finding Blinds in Essex isn't difficult. There are plenty of blinds companies in Essex all offering a good range of vertical, venetian and roller blinds. Many also carry other ranges too. So to help you decide on the blinds that suit you best, here are some pointers about buying blinds in Essex. There are only a few reasons why people buy blinds -

1 - to control the light coming in to the room 2 - to control the heat coming in to the room 3 - to control your privacy 4 - to be fashionable

Lets start with perhaps the most flexible of blinds, the Vertical Blind. These are perhaps the most common type of blind in Essex. Close the louvres and they make a "wall" of fabric. Open them and you can see through the gaps. Rotate the louvres at an angle and you can stop people seeing in or out from one direction, but still let your desired amount of light in.

Vertical blinds tend to also be great for economy. Especially when compared to curtains the amount of fabric you get for your money is fantastic. Once the main blind sold in Office buildings, they are now the most popular domestic blind and are great in several situations.

Venetian blinds are also a popular choice of blind in Essex. They are also economical and offer good control of privacy and light. There is a choice of slat size to offer different looks and a range of colours and effect. 25mm is the most popular size, although 50mm can suit a large window better.

Wood venetians are more expensive but very popular at the minute as prices have dropped dramatically due to the new "cut downs". These are available in 3 different slat sizes and are ready made. When you place your order they take the nearest size up and cut the width, and adjust the height for you.

If you are buying wooden venetian blinds in Essex it is well worth making sure of the quality. Cheaper blinds are not treated to prevent them warping. It is normal for a wooden venetian to warp a little, but it shouldn't curve like a banana!

Roller blinds are the old favourite, and whilst they may be simple, they don't offer much in the way of controlling the light or heat coming into a room, other than really blocking it out. Black out blinds Are usually rollers. These come with a plastic backing that is designed to block all light coming into a room, and are popular with night shift workers in Essex.

If you want to completely block out the light, or at least aren't concerned with flexibility of the blind, then you will have an amazing choice of colours, fabrics, materials, shapes, poles and pulls you can have with your blind. You also have the choice of spring loaded or the more popular chain control mechanism, which is easier to control.

The most common place to govern the heat is a conservatory, and pleated blinds come into there own in this instance. These blinds are essentially rollers but with a fold each 25mm or so. Special backings are available to reflect more of the hear back from your conservatory, and protect you from the Essex sun.

Conservatory roof blinds also have wires or nylon wires to support them and stop them from sagging in your conservatory roof.
