By selecting soft colors, you create an atmosphere of soothing, calming qualities that are easy for baby to adjust to. But if you just cant help your self and want to choose a bold vibrant color, consider using it for accents throughout babys room like for trim on the walls or designs on fabric.

If you have ever got stimulation from a color then you know for yourself that color will stimulate your baby. The key is to use colors that stimulate baby in positive ways. This may seem a little overboard, but you should always keep baby's development on your mind when designing the room baby will be using to sleep and play in. A popular color that would look great in any baby nursery decor is none other than blue. Blue is the color of the sky that baby will see from walks in the stroller and if you live by the coast the color of the big vast ocean. Blue is often used in bedrooms because of its calming, tranquil stimulation and has been shown to produce soothing chemicals in the body. Is there anything better than a calm baby? The most popular color used in decorating is green and for good reason once you know what green can do for both you and baby. Green is the color that represents old mother nature. Deciding on a theme is never easy, but the thing you must keep in mind is that its for baby and not you. The question you should always ask is Am I buying this theme for me or for baby? If you wind up getting a theme packed full of complex designs stocked to the brim with your favorite colors, do baby a favor and move into the room yourself. Seriously though, you should keep it simple and dont go overboard. Remember, baby is starting from scratch and his little brain is like a sponge absorbing every detail around him. By keeping it simple you are allowing him to start focusing in on simple things and giving him an unobtrusive start in his early years of learning. Some good themes to use are animals, frogs, butterflies, or colorful shapes because they are simple in design and you can expand on them later in babys toddler years.

Before you dive right in and get covered with paint, there is one more important thing you must include in babys room. The news is pack full of stories of the past of crushed familys that lost baby all because of an unfortunate mishap that could have been prevented. Even though baby is brand new you should still go ahead and prep the room for safety now by doing things like covering light sockets, buying a crib that is safe and secure, removing any small items that may have come with your theme like buttons or beads, and buy a baby monitor so you can hear baby when he sleeps. Like I always say, Better safe today then sorry tomorrow.
