Electric Drum Machines - Make Your Own Best Songs

Electric drum machines are melodic instruments which allow you make song from hundreds of built in sounds. Electric drum machines are dissimilar from electric drum kits which are actual electronic drums that you play to provide beats and pattern.

Electric drum machines come programmed with a wide variety of sounds. These sounds are then mixed together in several ways to create patterns. The patterns are then joined together to make music.

You create music with electric drum machines by chaining together multiple pieces of these patterns to form songs. These machines support all types of music from jazz to rock.

You may use rhythm patterns already preset or you can create your own and add them using the on board sequencer. Electric drum machines are used to combine these patterns in a never ending variety of ways. You can store around 100 of your creations to play back any time you need.

Electric drum machines are going to be available at numerous prices and with different directions. For instance, the Alesis SR18 Drum Machine costs a couple of hundred dollars and includes one hundred presets and lets you create 100 patterns. It has a headphone output so you can make music without disturbing any one. It has an effects engine with compression, EQ and reverb so you can customize your sound.

Electric drum machines can be purchased for around $100. The Zoom MRT3B is one of these cheap models that pack in a lot for the price. It has 100 drum sounds and seventy drum kits. It offers 396 presets and 99 slots for custom patterns.

Electric drum machines are tiny and straightforward to take with you. They look like a small box with varied buttons and dials. These musical devices have been around since the 1930s and have experienced quite a few changes thanks to technological advances the past few decades.

Electric drum machines not only produce drum sounds but sounds of other percussion instruments also. Some have tiny pads that can be used for finger drumming. Each pad is allotted to a selected instrument like a snare, cymbal or bass.

If you are looking to learn how to play the drums or want a collection of drums for practice or for your band, you could be better off with electric drum kits or even a set of Sonar drums. If you are looking for something to provide back beats or a synthesizer for making your own music then electric drum machines are a sensible choice.

Electric drum machines are not just for fun though. Many bands and rock musicians use these devices and need folk skilled in their operation. It isn't difficult to learn how to use a drum machine, it just takes practice.

Thru the utilization of electric drum machines, musicians can practice and perform even if session drummers aren't present. For that reason, drum machines are very important instruments.

Electric drum machines are enjoyable instruments for anybody that's into music. They are reasonable and easy to program. They are small and lightweight. Electric drum machines turn out good gifts too. And because the output can go to headphones, anyone can create music anywhere at any hour and not trouble anyone else.

What You Need To Know About Buying A Home Theater Sound System

Home theaters are all the rage nowadays. Everyone seems to want the experience of being at the movies in the comfort of their own home. In order to get that experience, you need to make sure the most important aspect, the sound system, is done correctly.

The installation of your home theater system is first and foremost, highly dependent upon other factors that have nothing to do with the actual components. You will need to consider where the guests will sit along with the shape and size of the room. These three things will determine the type of components and where you will place the speakers.

When choosing components and installing the home theater sound system, you will need to consider a number of different aspects.

What Is Your Budget?

First, figure out your sound system budget. There is no sense looking at components until you know how much you have to spend. Looking at top of the line, and therefore expensive, systems is an exercise in futility if you only have the money for a middle tier system.

Do Your Homework

You should not buy the first sound system you see. You will need to research the available sound systems by going online and gathering as much information as possible. Online searches will bring up customer and expert reviews as well as specifications, prices and online sales deals. Google search is your friend where this is concerned.

Get The Right System

After youve done your research and have a list of sound systems in your price range, you can then pick the system that best fits your home and your wallet. Once it is purchased and it arrives at your house, the next task it to make sure the system is installed properly.

Install Your Sound System

Professional installations are a way to go to ensure you get the best setup possible without any mistakes. If you know what you are doing, however, you can save yourself alot of money. Study the room and place the speakers in the correct place the surround your guests.

Hide The Wires

Traditional sound systems are wired together. Wires are run between the components and the speakers. These wires should be hidden from view so-as not to clutter up the room. Additionally, hiding the wires is a safety measure, meant to keep your guests safe from tripping over them and to protect your components from wires being ripped out accidentally. The other option you have is to go with wireless speakers. These eliminate the consideration of where to hide the wires.

Speaker Placement

A surround sound system requires three speakers in front and two speakers behind and to the side. The center speaker should be wherever the television is placed. This speaker should be either above or below the television. The rest of the speakers will establish a cocoon of sound that will make you and your guests feel like they are watching the movie on the big screen. Watch out for the spilled soda and popcorn though.

How Does A Steam Shower Work?

Over the past few decades people have loved going to spas. One of the reasons people like going to spas is that they have steam rooms. This is the place you do most of your relaxing, while getting rid of all those toxins and the excess water we put on through the week. Before the spa, there was no other place for people to experience the steam room. However, with technology where it is today the invention of the steam shower is made possible.

This means that you can now have your own steam room, or steam shower, in your own bathroom. Now all you need is your own private masseuse and you will have a great little spa going. Maybe it is time to send the wife to massage school!

What is a steam shower?

As the name suggests, a steam shower is a built in stall that is much like the stall a regular shower is enclosed in. With a regular shower all you have is a hot and cold tap and a water spout or nozzle. With a steam shower things get a bit more intricate, which is just perfect for the handy men out there.

This shower does work like a regular shower, for those times you just want to take a regular shower. However, with a push of a button you will have a fully functional steam room on your hands. All steam showers should offer a sitting area, and depending on the size, maybe a sitting area for two.

How does a steam shower work?

Okay, so it is not that complicated and you do not need to be a techno boffin to figure this out. You want steam? Boil some water! This is exactly how the steam shower works. Somewhere behind the pretty face of the shower you will find a small steam generator. This is activated once you activate the steam program on the digital dial inside the shower.

This little box is filled with water and in a few second you have comfortably hot steam "pouring" out of the many nozzles that makes up the steam shower. That is right, there is more than one!

So if you want to enjoy another day in the steam room, do not waste your time driving to the spa. Build your very own spa in your own bathroom. A steam shower will save you money in the long run - no more need for driving and no need for that spa membership.

What Everybody Ought To Know About Salsa

This dance is just one of the many dances out there that you or I can learn. After some practice, any novice can take over the dance floor.

During a game of "twenty questions", a friend asked "What is one thing you regret?" I thought for a moment and then knew the answer. I said, "I wish I learned to dance sooner". I waited far too long to get into dance and now I realize how much I was missing.

I believed them but I'd be more convinced if they said that they lost interest. If I were to get fit, I'd probably look for an activity that I'd enjoy doing, like dancing! There are some gyms that offer dance lessons to get physically in shape, but why enroll in them if you could just have a dance video and dance at home, anytime you wished?

How can you start learning this? - Some people would say that you have to be born with the talent. Some believe that if you want to be a good dancer, then you should have learned that when you were younger. I say, if you want to dance, then you should be ready to commit yourself to practice before anything else.

If you are really committed to learning something, then devoting your time and effort in practicing isn't useless. At the end of the day after putting your body to work, you are always one step to achieving perfection. People who want to dance and be good at it are given what they want through dance videos that provide step-by-step instructions.

It's a dance that would make you feel good afterwards because finally, you can do the sexy moves you've always wanted to try.

Also, when you dance, your whole body moves, from your head, arms, and hips and feet, you instantly become a moving portrait. Dance is not only an activity that most people enjoy, body movements together with music makes it an effective means of self-expression. That's why people who dance are also considered artists.

If you do salsa dancing, you not only dance, you also stretch muscles for fitness and make your body a medium of self-expression, and an effective one at that. These are only few of the benefits people get from dancing. Add to the list meeting new people, being pro and competing, sharing your talent to the world while doing what you love.

To the novice, it may seem an impossible task, to commit oneself to dance, be frustrated at times, but the rewards are great. There is nothing more fulfilling than accomplishing something you have always wanted. Salsa may look difficult but aren't all dances like that? Nautical Wall Decor

When you come across the words nautical decor, the first thing you probably envision is a scene relating to water, and these could be anything from starfish, beaches, sailboats, underwater scenes, and anything to do with ships. The next step would be to take these ideas and incorporate them into whatever space you are deciding to utilize as your wall decor.

If you are not a fan of the traditional nautical decor, simply create a kind of symbolic design with these features or something that gives you the impression that what you are trying to achieve is a nautical decor and a nautical lifestyle that you and many others will appreciate for many years to come. You can create a scene that closely resembles the interiors or settings aboard a sea-going vessel using mostly wall hangings, pictures, picture frames, and wall lighting with a suggestion of a nautical theme.

A great nautical decor idea you could use is the scene you would see when you are inside a ship and you are far out on the water. Imagine that from where you are you see the ocean, some palm trees along the beach, and seaboards. This is great for a wall decor and this can very easily be created in any room. Utilize some lighting effects and paint or wall hangings and you will have a brilliant nautical wall decor.

The whole idea of the nautical decor is to create a very expressive environment. You want to create the wall so that its aim is to remind you or the user " if you are one doing the decorating " of life on or by the ocean. If you want to get more decorative when trying to achieve your nautical decor, you can place a replica of a ships wheel above a headboard, or a surf board, boat oar, or a porthole as a mirror and use wall lighting fixtures on either side of it. These can be of a style that resembles the lanterns they would use on board a ship. How about hanging a hammock in the kids bedroom to represent a fishnet?

If you are deciding on a color scheme for the wall decor then maybe you should consider a combination of blues, whites, and greens. These three colors represent the natural colors of the ocean, and playing around with this will result in finishes that will leave you speechless. Accent with complimentary colors or colors you would find under the sea! Try decorating the walls with wooden panels if you want that cabin interior look. It could also resemble the rustic interiors of some beach house. Wooden panels and the proper lighting can create dramatic effects.

Your nautical decor can be done by simply utilizing common sense. Remember what you have seen in a movie or personally on a ship and work from there. Don't restrict yourself to these ideas. Allow your decorative side to come out and the results will surprise you and turn you into a natural.

Frank Sinatra And Nelson Riddle: How It Happened

Frank Sinatra is rightful known today as an entertainment icon, but many forget that there was a time when he was just another washed up teen idol trying to reinvent himself artistically and revive his career. After his teen idol stardom ended, Sinatra went through a rough period that he described as 'all Monday's' when his personal life was in shambles, his professional prospects non-existent and his financial status in ruin.

To make things even worse, his bosses at Columbia Records were mis-managing his talent in an ill-advised effort to make him a 'novelty singer'. This included a short lived pairing with Mitch Miller--the very low point of which was a horrible record called 'Mama Will Bark'. Here the greatest voice of the 20th Century recorded a duet with a busty actress named Dagmar and a dog impersonator barking and howling in the background. These records were poorly received by the public--not a surprise in retrospect--and in 1952 Columbia Records dumped Sinatra.

His luck was soon to improve, however, as a number of his colleagues including former Tommy Dorsey vocalists June Hutton and Jo Stafford got him in the door at Capitol Records. This began a nine year relationship that produced some of the finest work of Sinatra's career. Initially, Frank worked with June Hutton's husband, Axel Stordahl. These sessions produced some decent music including "I'm Walking Behind You" but wouldn't last long. Frank wanted to go in a different direction, which became a necessity when Stordahl left to take a gig with Eddie Fisher in New York. After a lengthy search for a replacement, Sinatra reluctantly agreed to work with an experienced big band conductor named Nelson Riddle. The Capitol Records executives were excited about the matchup, but Sinatra had to be convinced.

The Riddle/Sinatra collaboration was an unabashed success. Their early sessions produced among other songs "I've Got The World On The String" which is something of a 'shot heard round the world' for Sinatra's career and popular music in general. The well known standard was given new vibrancy with Riddle's buoyant arrangement and Sinatra's new found vocal maturity. The song was only a modest commercial success at the time, reaching #14 on the single charts, but became a classic. It was also a favorite of Sinatra himself, and he continued to perform the song live, frequently as a show opener, for the rest of his life.

Put into a modern context, Frank Sinatra's career is even more remarkable. It's difficult to envision one of today's popular acts among the adolescent set like the Jonas Brothers being able to even transition into a career where they're taken serious as an adult artist. Sinatra far exceeded that goal, leaving an imprint on popular music that may never be equaled. His ascendancy to his status as 'Chairman of the Board' and one of the most important artists of the 20th Century all began with his union with Nelson Riddle.
