Pragmatic Miranda Hobbes has a more austere outlook on her daytime fashions. As a lawyer, she dresses in smart, tailored suits to maintain her professional image and get the job done. She's also the most laid back of the four when it comes to weekend wear, prefering jeans and sweats to frilly skirts and stilettos. She can, however, when called upon, come up with some eyecatching evening wear that keeps up with the other girls just fine. And that red hair makes her a real stand-out in the crowd.
Miss Park Avenue, Charlotte York, is perhaps the most prim and proper of the characters on Sex And The City. Her perfectly coordinated designer wear is always crisp and fresh with nary a hair out of place. Even when she jogs, everything matches! And talk about evening wear! Charlotte is the reason little black dresses were invented!

Although his first name is finally revealed in the final episode, and we also learn his full name in the movie, we'll still call him Mr. Big. Steve Brady prefers his jeans and T-shirts above all else. He doesn't even own a suit. In fact, when he finally needs one, Miranda buys it for him. But who can resist this boyish, fun-loving guy with big, blue eyes and an even bigger heart?
Charlotte's lawyer, and eventual soul mate, Harry Goldenblatt appears most often in suits as well. As a successful divorce attorney, that's what he needs to wear to win his cases. Short, bald, hairy, and a little lacking in the social graces, he's so dedicated to Charlotte that she eventually converts to Judaism so she and Harry can be married.
Smith - ya just gotta love him! He's so dedicated to Samantha and he puts up with so much crap from her. As an aspiring actor and fashion model, we get to see Smith with a lot of different looks. And he looks great in anything from jeans to suits to leather....to nothing! Absolut, indeed!

The Success of a Groundbreaking Television Series
From the very first episode in 1998, Sex And The City has been changing the way women see themselves and their relationships with each other and the men in their lives. It gave career driven women a voice, and it's shown that what women really talk about can be respectable, thoughtful and complex " even when the main subject is men!

Through the six series we are introduced to the many issues that modern women face. Though they may have more freedom in terms of careers and money, this comes at a price.
Who can fail to be drawn into the biggest story of the series, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Big (Chris Noth)? From season 1 we see them meet, and in season 6 we finally get to see them together, only to experience yet more turmoil when the movie comes around! Who knows what Sex and the City 2 will hold for the (now married) couple?
For Charlotte (Kristin Davis), the eternal optimism, love doesnt come easy. But persistence pays off, and she finally gets the family she wants and deserves by the end of Sex and the City: the Movie.
Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) always struggled with her own self-confidence and direction in life. This is shown throughout the hilarious yet thoughtful portrayal of her pregnancy and motherhood after season 4, as well as the on-off relationship with husband Steve (David Eigenberg).
And not much needs to be said about Samantha (Kim Cattrall), the promiscuous, career-hungry woman who isn't afraid to take exactly what she wants from life. Not to mention the fact that shes helped women all over the world be proud to say I'm forty-f*****g-five!
